The Water Poet is a multi-tasking gem of a pub that boasts a large main bar, comfortable dining room, huge walled garden with barn, basement bar, additional private dining room and separate pool parlour with two tables.

The main bar holds around 150 with plenty of slouchy sofas to relax on and wide screen TVs to view, while the dining room at the rear of the pub has another bar and can accommodate up to 60. The fully equiped basement room can house around 80 people, being ideal for private functions or events, seated or informal, with a stage, lighting and equipment including a full cinema system. We serve lunch during the week between midday and 3pm, with an all day bar menu available on a Saturday, Our now legendary Time Out recommended Sunday lunch is served between midday and 5pm, with booking advisable.

The large enclosed garden plays host to a renowned annual summer barbeque between May and September, with lots of tables, chairs and a covered marquee on the decking. Hog roast can also be found most Saturday's. We also have a further sheltered, heated area available for the cooler months. In all we can accommodate around 150 people outside, with area reservations availalbe. Private areas can be reserved and BBQ and Hog Roast parties welcome.

We also have a new area available for private hire - The Barn. Situated just off our main patio, The Barn houses a bar, large plasma screen and room for up to 50 people, making the space ideal for anything from a party or screening to a social or charity event. Viewings available on request.

We also have a new private room with capacity for 25-30 people seated which is suitable for banquet style dining, large family lunch or hired as a space fo small events - please email for full details.

All sections of The Water Poet can be privately hired and catered for, although this service is not available for the entire venue as a whole. Function menus can be on our viewed on our website or requested, and we can also tailor food and drnk requirements to your specific needs.
